Alpha gameplay for Sega and Creative Assembly’s Hyenas leaked

Someone broke their NDA, as evidenced by an hour-long Hyenas gameplay footage uploaded to youtube. It’s likely from the July Hyenas alpha and is splattered with watermarks all over the screen.

The leak begins first with a tutorial section, a guide that explains how to heal and revive downed teammates and how to hold the “getaway zone”. The character menu also shows that each hyena comes with a primary and secondary weapon – and some of these seem unique to each character.

Now Playing: HYENA | Official trailer

hyenas was first announced on June 22 and is a collaboration between Sega and Creative Assembly. Its gameplay leans towards PvP battle royale with PvE elements. In a single match, there are five teams with three “hyenas” each competing for merchandising. Victory conditions fill your merch quota – whether by finding it or ambushing other crews for the merch they have – and escaping with it. Once a team’s quota is reached, they must protect it until the teleport area becomes available.

Hyenas seems like a very colorful game, and the tutorial narrator is also very, hm, explosive. For those looking to try out the game, you can still sign up for the Alpha, as the request form on the Hyenas website is still open.
