Andrea Bocelli’s son Matteo Bocelli releases single for his film debut with Idris Elba LISTEN | Music | Entertainment

Andrea Bocellithe son Matteo Bocelli has followed in his father’s footsteps over the past few years, showing that talent for singing truly runs in the family. The 24-year-old made his professional debut with the famous Italian tenor in 2018 with their touching duet Fall On Me.

When previously asked Andrea about his son’s singing, he replied: “I think Matteo is increasingly identifying his own style, according to his own personality and sensibility. And I think his very promising single Solo shows it. As for the duets, it is true that the song Fall On Me was a great opportunity that we seized as a family, perhaps without really thinking about it but with great enthusiasm. And the public appreciated the sincerity of the emotions involved. But I also think that my son today has strong enough wings to take off on his own.

Fall On Me even ended up on the soundtrack for Disney’s The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.

Since then Matteo has toured with Andrea and released singles like Solo, Close and Tempo ahead of his 2023 solo debut.

If that wasn’t enough, the rising star released his latest song Cautionary Tale today, which will appear on the soundtrack to Mad Max director George Miller’s latest film, Three Thousand Years of Longing.

There are two versions of the sultry, fluid track he made with Junkie XL, including one in English, which can be listened to on streaming platforms – see the link at the bottom of the article.

Three Thousand Years Of Longing is a dark fantasy film based on the short story The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye by AS Byatt.

The synopsis reads: “A scholar, content with life, meets a Djinn who offers him three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Their conversation, in a hotel room in Istanbul, leads to consequences that no one expected.

Matteo’s role as Mustapha is based on a real Ottoman prince called Mustafa, who was the son of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

He was immensely popular and heir apparent until his father ordered his execution in 1553 at the age of just 38 after a statesman persuaded him that Mustafa was coming to kill him.
