The james bond the film franchise has existed entirely under the record reign of Queen Elizabeth II, as she turns 60 this year. Over the decades there have been royal premieres for the later 007 films, No Time To Die’s at the Royal Albert Hall being the last and seeing the current King Charles III, the Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales present.

Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson were asked about the late Queen’s relationship with the franchise, which existed for almost the first 10 years of her reign.

Wilson shared with The Hollywood Reporter, “She’s been a big supporter of the Bond movies over the years. The same goes for all the other members of the royal family – Charles and William and everyone else. She was a steady hand. You don’t see her so much as a person. It’s a shock no matter how badly you anticipate it might happen. He then shared a funny story about the late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Production on Bond 26 is at least two years away according to the producers, who want to sit down and figure out what a reboot will look like before casting a new 007. Either way, maybe the new movie could even be called On His Majesty’s Secret Service?
