While his Hollywood plans may be in the air after his former wife Amber Heard’s defamation case, Johnny Depp knows exactly what he’s doing next summer. He is going on a European tour with his rock band Hollywood Vampires.
“Pirates of the Caribbean” will join his bandmates and rock personalities Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Tommy Henriksen for summer 2023 gigs in Germany and Luxembourg.
“Hollywood vampires are BACK !!” the band’s official Instagram released on Wednesday.
According to a social media release, the four-piece band will play six performances during June next summer. The first performance will be at the Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen, Germany, on June 20, 2023. The post also teased that fans should “keep an eye out for more to come …”
The Hollywood Vampires set off almost three years after they canceled their European summer tour twice because of COVID-19. The European screenings were originally scheduled for 2020, but were postponed to 2021 because Security issues related to COVID. Then in 2021 the band revealed through social media publications that it would reschedule its 2021 tour due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
News of the group’s upcoming tour dates comes just weeks after Depp won about $ 10.4 million in a controversial defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Heard. In a lawsuit that ended earlier this month after six weeks, judges awarded Heard $ 2 million in damages.
Even before the judges ruled in early June, Depp continued to perform with English guitarist Jeff Beck. According to Variety, the actor made a surprise appearance at Beck’s show on May 30 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. They collaborated on the upcoming single “This Is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr.” In 2020, Beck and Depp also released a cover of John Lennon’s song “Isolation”.
