Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow “returns in the new Pirates of the Caribbean project” | Movies | Entertainment

Johnny Depp led the billion dollar Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as Captain Jack Sparrow in five films. And while he was preparing for Pirates 6 and what he hoped would be a farewell to the character, nothing has been done since 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales aka Salazar’s Revenge in the UK.

Depp was dropped by Disney after allegations of domestic violence, which he strongly denied, were made by his ex-wife Amber Heard in 2018. He was also asked to resign from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, with Mads Mikkelsen being recast as Grindelwald in its place. .

However, the 59-year-old Jack Sparrow star has since won a libel case against Heard and has returned to acting in films, although his future in the Pirates franchise remains uncertain. Nevertheless, a report claims that a new Pirates project is in the works at Disney.

Giant Freakin Robot’s trusted and proven sources claim that a Pirates of the Caribbean Disney+ series is in development.

However, he’s supposed to be animated, meaning Jack Sparrow could be voiced in a similar sound, just like some of the Marvel characters in What If…? To display.

Admittedly, for now, this could be a way to bring back the much-loved character without necessarily working with Depp, especially if it were a prequel to the film series. Still, after winning his libel suit, his fans really want to see a live comeback.
