Kieran Culkin joins Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain

Oscar nominated actor, Jesse Eisenberg is about to take several selections in the next film, real pain. Eisenberg is set to write and direct the picture which would also be in coordination with the feature star.

This new project will focus on the complicated relationship that exists between two cousins. real pain is set to begin filming in Warsaw in March 2023 and would tell the story of “two distant cousins ​​who travel to Poland after their grandmother’s death to see where she is from and end up joining a tour of the Holocaust”.

Eisenberg will portray one of the cousins ​​alongside Kieran Culkin (Succession). By talking to, Eisenberg spoke more about the difficult and “bittersweet” relationship that the two characters in the film share. “They have a fun and strained relationship; it is a bittersweet story, as we realize that we may not belong entirely together, but within the context of this incredibly dramatic story,” he said. The Zombieland star went on to add, “I’m trying to ask the question of whether modern pain is valid in the context of real historical trauma. I think I’m speaking from people’s experience. [in their 30s] who come back and it’s foreign to them – and now suddenly real.


Eisenberg’s projects to work on real pain as a director, it seems to be part of a longer term plan and a desire to step away from the stage in front of a camera to coordinate behind the scenes. real pain will be produced by Fruit Tree production company owned by Dave McCary, Emma Stone and Ali Herting. The company was also behind the production of the aforementioned products. When you’re done saving the world which also featured Stone.
