A Twitter user has posted a video showing their discovery of a bug that allows players to fly through the Sunshine Airport course in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
A new bug has been discovered in Sunshine Airport’s course Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Despite the name, players don’t actually fly through the race course. Like most of other courses in the Mario Kart franchise, Sunshine Airport has dashboard panels that propel the player forward in an acceleration of speed, sometimes over a gap in the road. When this happens, the rider’s glider activates and propels them into the air. Once at the end of the gap, the player lands and the glider disappears. That’s not the case thanks to a new glitch found in the latest installment of Nintendo’s beloved franchise.
Despite the impressive reputation of most Nintendo titles, some issues will go unnoticed by developers. In the case of Mario Kart frankness, several glitches come to mind. For example, there is the rail-hopping shortcut in Mario Kart 64 The Rainbow Road course and the frustrating glitch where a player is thrown back to the starting line of a course in Mario Kart: double dash. A noticeable problem in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the one in Ninja Hideaway that traps players. Fans have discovered that if a runner exits a certain ramp too early, they will land on top of a panel and potentially get stuck on it. When this happens, players get stuck and have no choice but to quit the race. Luckily, the latest glitch discovered by fans might help players rather than hinder them like the Ninja Hideaway glitch.
A Twitter user who goes by the handle CullingArtist posted a video showing their discovery of a glitch that allows the player to fly through the course from Sunshine Airport to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The issue apparently triggers once the rider rolls over a dash and slides on water. Instead of hitting the ground above the space on the race track, the racer continues to glide down the road and through the airport, navigating through signs and even flying over planes.
Mario Kart 8’s glitchy flight mechanics
Complaints from players with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Coconut Mall The DLC stage was recently addressed in the game’s latest update, showing that Nintendo had heard fans’ concerns over part of the game. Players were upset that the course which once featured Mii character NPCs moving to obstructing runners on the course has been changed to feature Shy Guys stationery. Following fan complaints, Nintendo updated the Coconut Mall course so that the Shy Guys could spin their cars, making the track once again more challenging. Since Nintendo changed an aspect of the game based on player feedback, it’s likely that the glitch discovered by CullingArtist will also be fixed in a future update if enough attention is paid to it.
With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe second Rappel course pass DLC already released, Mario Kart fans are already trying to figure out which courses will be released next Rappel course pass vague. Perhaps with the introduction of this interesting flight glitch, Nintendo will be more inclined to add a new flight mechanic to Mario Kart 9every time this game happens.
