Next James Bond: Tom Hardy slips behind as Netflix hero takes the lead | Movies | Entertainment

Since no time to die released in theaters last year, the future of james bond was left in the air. Daniel Craig stepped away from the role of 007 after 15 years and five films, and now it’s time for a new star to don the tux and have his martinis shaken, not stirred. One of the fan favorites, Tom Hardyhad been at the forefront of Bond Ratingsbut things are starting to drift away from the Mad Max actor.

Last week, Hardy had a mighty 4/1 as he became James Bond of Ladbrokes.

The Venom actor previously explained that he “wouldn’t discuss” becoming Bond, as he feared losing his chance if he talked about it more openly.

While he’s certainly been quiet since making those comments, his odds have dwindled in recent days. Ladbrokes have now given the Dunkirk actor 5/1 by becoming the new 007.

The change propels Hardy into fourth place in the Bond ratings, just behind Idris Elba.

Elba maintained a mighty 4/1 in becoming 007. But his odds could change dramatically after Bond bosses Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson mentioned it in a statement to Variety.

Broccoli confirmed, “We love Idris,” before explaining why he might not be the best bet for 007. She continued, “The thing is, it’s going to take a few years. And when we Bond says, it’s a 10-12 year commitment. So he’s probably thinking, ‘Do I really want this thing? Not everyone wants to do this.’

Despite this, for now, he is a strong contender for third place for Bond, despite being beaten, on the sidelines, by another major British star: Rege-Jean Page.

While Hardy has fallen behind in the Bond ratings, Cavill shows no signs of stopping. His odds have now improved to a staggering 7/4.

Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “Henry Cavill has taken an even bigger lead in the latest Bond bet after a lot of interest from punters over the weekend.”

The actor would be perfect for the role, given his history of tough heroes, such as SupermanGeralt de Riv de the witcherand the super spy Napoleon Solo in L’Homme de l’ONCLE.

Moreover, if Cavill accepts the role, it would be the second time he has tried to become Britain’s best-known spy.

Cavill had already auditioned to become James Bond in 2005. And he did very well, moving on to the final audition stage with the studio at the time, which produced the 2006 film Casino Royale.

Unfortunately for the star, disaster struck. Casino Royale manager Martin Campbell said Cavill looked a little “chubby”.

The actor later admitted that he didn’t know how to “train or diet”, and he inevitably lost the role. A few months later, Craig was announced as the new James Bond.

James Bond No Time To Die is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video now.
