Stranger Things’ Joe Keery Joins All-Star Cast of New Drama Film

Joe Keery joins Lily James, Willem Dafoe and Rachel Sennott in the indie drama Finalmente L’alba, set to begin filming in Italy this month.

Joe Keery is set to join the star-studded cast of the upcoming indie drama Finally L’alba. Keery is best known for playing the 80s teenager Steve Harrington in Netflix stranger things, which recently launched its record-breaking fourth season and is up for 14 awards at next month’s Emmys. He is set to return for the show’s fifth season, which will also be its last. The actor will also join FX’s crime anthology Fargo season 5 as a character named Gator Tillman.


Keery is just the latest big name addition to Finally L’albawhich is set to begin filming this month in Italy, according to Deadline. Lily James (Pam and Tommy), Willem Dafoe (Spider Man, The Florida Project), and Rachel Sennott (Body Body Body) are already confirmed to star in the film with Saverio Constanzo on board to direct. As of now, plot and character details have not been revealed.

Keery is one of the few stranger things regulars who capitalized on the huge success of the series. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Sadie Sink also made their mainstream breakthroughs with stranger things, and each went on to star in major blockbusters, Short films directed by Taylor Swift, or sit themselves in the director’s chair. As one of the show’s most beloved fan favorites, it was only a matter of time before offers started rolling in for Keery as well, and between Finally LAlba, Fargoand his next romantic drama Jam – which just wrapped production – fans have a lot to look forward to.
