In July, a British tourist was arrested on suspicion of raping a British tourist in Magaluf.

The UK government’s travel advice for Spain says: ‘Personal attacks, including sexual assault, are rare but do occur and are often perpetrated by other UK nationals.

“Be aware of the possible use of ‘date rape’ and other drugs, including ‘GHB’ and liquid ecstasy.

“Alcohol and drugs can make you less alert, less in control, and less aware of your surroundings.”
