Phil Jones commented: “@Ryanair have been sitting at Rhodes airport for over four hours.. 2 hours late so far – no update given – flight mess ref FR9077.”
Later he tweeted an update: “@Ryanair 24 hours after we arrived for our flight home and we are still here, to and from emergency hotel overnight, in and out of plane faulty… very bad service.”
Ryanair has been contacted for comment on the over 24 hour delay.
Other flights arriving in Manchester also experienced no staff at border control counters and hour-long baggage delays.
Glynn Shorrock commented: “Waited over 2 hours for our luggage @manairport seriously needs to up their game shockingly.”
Victoria O’Toole added: “@manairport @Ryanair @RyanairPress…you have a terminal full of passengers but no staff? No bags? No information?”
Another passenger wrote: “@Ryanair @ManchesterAirp @SimonCalder Absolute chaos today! What is happening? All Ryanair flights appear to have been delayed and arrive at Manchester Airport T1 instead of T3. After 2 hours of waiting for our luggage, still no progress. Some flights were delayed by 28 hours! It’s carnage.
Dr Joanne Fillingham tweeted: “Our flight should have landed at 11.10pm yesterday @Ryanair no staff at Palma airport to explain the delay or @manairport arrived three hours late. Still waiting for bags. Asked the baggage handler and apparently @Ryanair staff to hide in the back I will never fly with them again.
