The fifth and final day of the Duleep Trophy final between West Zone and South Zone saw some drama in between as West Zone captained. Ajinkya Rahane sent young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal Off the field due to disciplinary issues. The whole episode came to the fore as Jaiswal joined South Zone batsman T. went on a regular basis Ravi Teja, Both the players kept criticizing each other and in the end the umpires decided to talk to Rahane.

During the 50th over of the last innings, there was a war of words between Jaiswal and Ravi Teja. Rahane immediately charged the situation to calm down. Experienced players were seen talking to Jaiswal.

But Jaiswal still kept going to Teja and then Rahane decided to send him off. Jaiswal was seen grumbling to himself as he walked away from the field.

In the 65th over of the innings, Jaiswal finally returned to the field. Earlier, the left-hander had set a target of 529 runs for South Zone after scoring 263 off 323 balls.


In the fourth and final innings, South Zone were reduced to 234 runs and Rahane-led West Zone won the final by 294 runs.

Speaking about the Jaiswal incident after the game, Rahane said: “I have always believed in respecting our opponents, umpires and match officials. So you have to handle certain incidents in a certain way.”
