Callum Smith smashed Mathieu Bauderlique with a searing left hook after a barnburner on the Anthony Joshua undercard against Oleksandr Usyk II.
The same way he flatlined Lenin Castillo during the undercard of the first Usyk-Joshua fight in London, Smith again impressed at light heavyweight. But it wasn’t easy, the fight was a shootout for as long as it lasted, with Bauderlique happily engaging in the pocket with the former world super middleweight champion.
Right off the bat, both men jumped on each other and started digging in wicked punches. The volume came from Bauderlique, while the cleaner work came from Smith. Then, in round three, Smith started aiming for the body as he headed towards the center of the ring, backing the Frenchman against the ropes.
As the tides began to turn, Smith only increased his production and in the next round found his breakthrough with a perfectly timed left hook dropping his opponent.
