Wrestler Mohit Grewal won bronze medal for India in Commonwealth Games 2022
Indian wrestler Mohit Grewal clinched a bronze medal in the men’s freestyle 125kg in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 by defeating Aaron Johnson at the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B here on Friday. Grewal defeated Johnson 5-0 in the bronze medal match. Grewal won the medal in just 3 minutes 30 seconds.
The Indian wrestler proved to be very good for his Jamaican rival as he managed to hold his own and kept his opponent away from the bronze medal.
It was a one-sided affair where the Indian wrestler put on the best of his wrestling skills to defeat Johnson by pinfall.
Earlier, star Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia won the gold medal for India in men’s 65kg by winning the final against Canada’s Lachlan McNeil.
Anshu Malik had to settle for a silver medal in the women’s 57kg freestyle wrestling event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 after losing to Nigeria’s Odunayo Folasade Adekuroye.
The Commonwealth Games 2022 will begin in Birmingham from 28 July to 8 August.
