Tottenham managed to get back to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 win wolves Saturday afternoon. Harry Kane was the hero for the home side, with the England international heading home in the 64th minute. And that means Spurs have now won two of their first three league games, with a draw with chelsea Between.
Tottenham had entered their game with Wolves hoping to get back to winning ways after drawing 2-2 with Chelsea last time out.
And Kane was the home side’s hero, the England international returning home after a terrific Ivan Perisic flick.
It was exactly what Tottenham deserved, with Spurs looking considerably sharper than their rivals during the contest in the capital.
The result means Spurs are now top of the Premier League table, despite admittedly having played one game more than the majority of top-flight teams.

When Tottenham need a goal, they often turn to Kane.
After hitting the woodwork, the England international was starting to look frustrated as Wolves dug deep to try and earn a point.
But Kane struck in the second half, deftly powering a header home to ensure it was a good day at the office for Antonio Conte and his well-drilled side.
Kane, by scoring, has now broken Sergio Aguero’s record for most Premier League goals for a club.
He bagged 186 in the top flight, making him a legend at Tottenham in the process.
Conte has decided to give Ivan Perisic his first start since the veteran joined the club from Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
At the start, like many of his teammates, the Croatian international was discreet.
But Perisic proved his class as the contest went on, with the former Inter, Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg star providing film for Kane to score and putting impressive crosses into the box.
Now that he has a first start under his belt, fans will hope the 33-year-old can keep pushing forward.
Perisic is a statement signing and seems perfectly suited to Conte’s system, having previously played under the Italian at Inter.
It wasn’t the best afternoon for Dejan Kulusevski, who has certainly seen better days during his brief Tottenham career.
But the former Juventus star was a real threat in the second half, giving Wolves all sorts of problems with his technique and speed.
He’s been a substantial success since leaving the Serie A giants during the January transfer window.
And, with each passing match, her relationship with Kane and Son Heung-Min seems to get better and better.
Only time will tell if he can propel Tottenham to the Premier League title this season.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg struggled for the first 45 minutes of the game, picking up a yellow card early in the game.
But the Denmark international, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid following Casemiro’s departure for Manchester United, then stepped up his efforts to show his class.
Wolves are not an easy team to play against and Hojbjerg was able to muster the midfield, despite being on a yellow for the majority of the contest.
For that, he deserves credit.
And he is certainly a leader within this Tottenham side, with the 27-year-old helping to put his teammates in order as they managed to cross the line.
