Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 Released November 16th, mobile version confirmed for 2023

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is coming to PC and consoles on November 16. During the Call of Duty: Next event on Thursday, Activision revealed the latest chapter, or expansion, for its free-to-play battle royale title Warzone. Billed as a “completely redesigned experience,” Warzone 2.0 features a massive new map, a new Gulag mode, and other improvements. Additionally, the publisher has confirmed a Warzone mobile game, dropping 120 players into the arena, in a fight for survival – launching in 2023.

Like the previous entry, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will be free-to-play, with soldiers dropping on the “greatest” battle royale map of all time. Al Mazrah is a meticulously designed arena, built from the ground up, with coastal towns, deserts, rocky peaks and an entire city to explore. Players might recognize this card from Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 remake – launching October 28 – playing a crucial role in the game’s campaign mode. Set in Western Asia, the map features combat on land, air and sea, presenting new challenges and scouting opportunities, so as you circle around enemies via speedboat or helicopter. According to Activision, vehicles can also be customized with skins.

Over time, a choking storm gradually envelops the map of Al Mazrah. But unlike the original war zone, the vapor wall will be erratic, due to bad weather, resulting in multiple smaller safe zones/circles. This would force players to come out of hiding and think of a new strategy. Shops are also returning to the game, allowing players to bring back a dead teammate, buy gear, and load up upgrades for their firearms.

The Gulag is also changing, as Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 introduces 2v2 matches, before being revived and returned to the game. As an option, players can hunt down the AI ​​jailers, who hold the key to the prison cells, and escape without a fight. Any items or gear you pick up in the Jail carry over to the main game, upon reactivation.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch on November 16, the PS5, PS4, Xbox series S/X, Xbox Oneand PC through Steam and BattleNet.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

Like its main counterpart, warzone mobile will drop 120 online players on the map, each game session. Activision note that there will be link between the two new versions of Warzone, such as social features (friends and chat) and cross-progression, allowing for a shared battle pass system. Additionally, the title is expected to host mobile-specific events, playlists, and content, with “deep customization options.” As for the new map of Al Mazrah, the blog post note that it will not be available at launch.

Pre-registration for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is now live androidahead of its planned global launch on Android and iOS devices in 2023.
