Brexit LIVE: New master plan to crush the chaos of British heavyweights | Politics | New

Nigel Farage has called for Brexit 2.0 to tackle the migrant crisis.

A total of 696 people made the perilous journey across the English Channel on Monday, with no crossings recorded on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Ministry of Defense figures.

The Border Force vessel Hurricane brought around 40-50 people, including a small number of children, to Dover yesterday morning with activity in the English Channel suggesting there would be more later today.

On GB News’ Farage at Large live from Bognor Regis, Mr Farage said: “We’re heading for a lot, people are feeling it across the country.

“We will never deal with this if we remain members of the European Convention on Human Rights, the court of which can overturn this.

“We will never deal with this as long as we are signatories to certain UN declarations, some of which are over 70 years old and outdated.

“I’ll tell you what we need is Brexit 2.0 for us to really regain control of our borders, that’s my view.”

The European Convention on Human Rights protects the human rights of people in the member countries of the Council of Europe.

All 47 member states of the Council, including the UK, have signed it.

The Convention guarantees rights and freedoms and prohibits unfair and harmful practices.

These include the rights to liberty, education, participation in free elections and fair trial.
