Fire at Miami airport: three people hospitalized after Red Air plane fire | World | New

A plane carrying 126 people, including 11 crew members, caught fire in an incident at Miami International Airport yesterday.

The Red Air 203 jet landed in Florida at 5:38 p.m. local time (10:38 p.m. BST) after completing a two-hour flight from Punta Caucedo in the Dominican Republic.

The fire has been extinguished and passengers have since been bused to the terminal, communications manager Greg Chin confirmed.

However, Mr. Chin told ABC News that three people were taken to area hospitals following the incident.

According to news outlet WSVN, the plane caught fire after making a crash landing, tearing through a communications tower and a small building.
