Boris Johnson discussed environmental roles for his wife, Carrie, in the fall of 2020, either for the COP26 summit or with the Royal Family, according to the Daily Mirror.
The latest claim follows reports that Mr Johnson tried to hire him as his chief of staff when he was Foreign Secretary in 2018.
Downing Street said it had never recommended Ms Johnson for a government job, but refrained from denying that it had considered or discussed the move.
The Prime Minister’s official spokesperson said: ‘The Prime Minister has never recommended Ms Johnson for a government role, nor for the Earthshot Prize.
“Beyond that, I would not participate in any conversations the Prime Minister may or may not have had in private.”
