The future King has teamed up with Penhaligon to launch the new fragrance inspired by the “beautifully fragrant” summers of the royal getaway. According to Highgrove Site of the gardens, the fragrance will reflect the smells and nature of the gardens.
They said: “Highgrove Bouquet is a new fragrance inspired by and created with HRH The Prince of Wales, in part a tribute to the beautifully fragrant summers at Highgrove Gardens.
“It’s a time when the smell of blooming silver lime fills the air, and Highgrove Gardens is full of its branches, with their blooming, uplifting floral notes.
“A burst of warm, confident energy opens the dance with vibrant lavender and geranium.
“As floral, powdery notes emerge, a shroud of delicate yellow flowers seems to fill the air, and to mimosa, tuberose brings longevity and depth, a solar storm of rich delight.
“The restful and soothing base is a blend of elegance and sophistication of cedar and iris woods.”
The fragrance features geranium, lavender and hyacinth along with weeping lime, tuberose, cedarwood, iris fusion and musks.
A bottle of perfume costs £151 and 10% of profits are donated to the Prince’s Foundation.
The foundation is a charity set up by the heir to the throne that provides a diverse range of education and training opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
“We had a lot of fun trying to grow tomatoes without success and things like that.”
The royal went on to describe the influence of a “wonderful” royal gardener called Mr Nutbeam.
He said: “He was wonderful and he helped me and my sister a little bit with the little garden we had.”
The Prince also discussed his plans to turn the gardens at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk into an ‘all organic operation’.
He said, “There’s nothing to beat, it’s there, I think, [than] eat what you have grown?
“That’s another reason why I still think it’s so important to find ways to encourage kids to grow vegetables and things in school.”
