Princess Diana’s ‘Wedding of the Century’ to be Featured at Las Vegas Exhibition | royal | New

The attraction features 12 curated rooms, including ‘Wedding of Century’, where couples can actually marry among carefully chosen artifacts from Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ 1981 nuptials, including a spectacular recreation of the wedding dress from Diana. The wedding package includes a ceremony and a private in-room dinner.

All visitors to the exhibition will have the chance to see the life-size replica of the iconic wedding dress made in paper by the Belgian artist and sculptor Isabelle de Borchgrave.

Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibition curator David Corelli told PEOPLE: “Over 120,000 weddings are performed in Las Vegas each year, it has become the wedding capital of the world.

“So here we have the ultimate hall showcasing artifacts and memorabilia from the most famous wedding of all time.

“And we thought, why not create something special for people to celebrate their love that you can only get here in Vegas?”

The exhibit was created in partnership with Pink Ribbons Crusade, a charity sharing its collection of royal memorabilia to raise money to fight breast cancer.

Tickets are on sale now for the exhibit, which opens September 2.

As well as including Queen Mary’s antique lace as Princess Diana’s ‘something old’, the wedding dress also included a blue bow inside the bodice as the bride’s ‘something blue’ .

Diana also put a hidden lucky charm on her dress: an 18-karat gold horseshoe jewel studded with white diamonds.

According to Royal Style in the Making exhibition curator Matthew Storey, the team trashed scraps of fabric that weren’t used on the actual dress in case members of the press were looking for clues. .

When July 29, 1981 finally arrived, Princess Diana arrived at St. Paul’s Cathedral wearing the voluminous ivory ball gown with a sparkling veil.
