US Treasury Undersecretary Wally Adeyemo told Turkish Deputy Finance Minister Yunus Elitas that Russian entities and individuals were trying to use Turkey to circumvent Western sanctions imposed during the Moscow War in Ukraine, the Treasury Department said.

During a phone call, the two men also discussed ongoing efforts to implement and enforce sanctions against Russia, the department said in a statement.
